Nevertheless, the professional judgment of individual markers and occasional human errors may lead to queries about the HKEAA’s grade awards. A 'Rechecking and Remarking' system has been instituted for candidates who believe that they should have obtained better results.

Candidates with substantiated financial difficulties who are recipients of financial aid (e.g. Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme) may apply to the HKEAA for waiving part of the rechecking/remarking fees. Candidates must complete the application form below and submit the original and photocopy of the supporting document(s) at the HKEAA Southorn Centre office within 5 calendar days after the release of examination results. Postal applications or applications without sufficient supporting document(s) will not be accepted.
(Note: The HKEAA will normally not consider the applications from candidates who are eligible for examination fee or school fee remission administered by the Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose family members are recipients of Disability Allowance under the Social Security Allowance (SSA) Scheme.)
