Web Accessibility

Accessible Version

To ensure easy web browsing and information search, much attention has been paid to the needs of users with disabilities and the limitations of the most popular web browsers when we redesigned the HKEAA website. We are also committed to ensuring that we conform to the latest requirements of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA to the maximum extent possible.

Over the years, the Authority has been actively pursuing web accessibility design. We have won the “Gold Award” in the Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme co-organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) in 2014 and 2016. In 2015-2016, 2020-2021, 2022-2023 and 2024-25, we have received the “Triple Gold Award” in the “Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme” (formerly known as “Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme”) in recognition of our commitment to making online information available for all. Prior to the Gold Award, the HKEAA received a number of Web Care Awards organised by the Internet Professional Association (iPro) from 2009 to 2012.
